3S eMMC controller has won high recognition of system platforms 2014-06-17

Solid State System (aka. 3S) announced today that its eMMC v4.51 controller has been fully tested and qualified among a wide variety of system platforms, including MediaTek and Qualcomm chipsets on both mobile and tablet solutions. Due to the nature of eMMC as an embedded solution, SSS5551 controller offers exceptional endurance and reliability performance which got listed on the Approved Vendor List (AVL) by two of the largest SoC providers in China early this year, namely Rockchip and Actions Semiconductor.

“With the massive NAND storage experiences accumulated throughout the years, we have designed the SSS5551 eMMC controller to meet the high standard of data integrity and reliability demanded by embedded systems”, said Tim Hu, CEO of 3S. “Various application design-in are on-going now with SSS5551 controller and we are expecting a high percentage of design-wins by the second half of Year 2014.”

Currently, 3S is working on the next generation eMMC controller (version 5.x) based on the latest timeline from JEDEC. Besides the higher data transfer rate drafted by the official spec, new error correction method will also be implemented to compensate the latest NAND technology.
